This intensive Level 1 teacher training is a comprehensive, immersive experience designed for anyone seeking a firm foundation in yoga teaching. Meeting four weekday mornings (6:00–7:15 am) and Saturday mornings (9:30–11:30 am), participants will expand their understanding through daily movement, breathwork, study, and practical teaching techniques. Integrated throughout are modules in anatomy and physiology, Yoga Sangraha (asana and basic sequencing), pranayama (breathing), yoga philosophy, and essential teaching skills. The course blends theory, practice, and discussion to build confidence and clarity, preparing you to teach, share, and grow your own practice.
You will learn:
- Yoga Anatomy & Physiology
- Basics of the skeleton, joints, and muscles as applied to yoga
- How breathing, posture, and movement impact the body’s systems
- Injury prevention and safe alignment principles
- Yoga Sangraha (Asana & Sequencing)
- Foundational yoga poses (asana): alignment, modifications, safe corrections
- Sequence structure for mixed-level and beginner classes
- Pranayama
- Introduction to key pranayama techniques for focus, energy, and calm
- Safe practice and progression of pranayama
- Integration of breath with movement
- Yoga Philosophy
- Core yogic concepts (such as the Eight Limbs, yamas and niyamas) and their real-life application
- Basic overview of key texts (Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika)
- Teaching Skills & Best Practices
- How to create an inclusive, welcoming yoga class
- Essential cueing, demonstration, and student communication skills
- Class planning, theming, and sequencing for beginners
- Reflective practice, self-awareness, and cultivating your teaching voice
Throughout the month, you’ll practice leading postures and breathwork, receive feedback, and explore yogic philosophy in a supportive, online group setting. By the end of the intensive, you’ll have built a solid base of knowledge and confidence to continue on your teaching path, deepen your personal practice, or both.
